What's it all about? Well its about 'Punctuation': full-stops, commas and things - the things people learn to do and then very quickly forget about. Punctuation is so easy - but is it? It is, if you know what you are doing and you know the effects that you want to create.
Who's it for? Anybody who needs to write: letters of application, articles, essays, promotion literature, stories and a hundred other things where punctuation is important. It is for the 14+ to adult age group; anybody who would like to check how good his/her punctuation really is.
What does it do? This program goes through the basics of punctuation in a simple interactive manner. Its object is not to teach but to support the learning already received and to promote the development of understanding, particularly the finer points. First it presents a menu of the various punctuation symbols. Clicking on a symbol will take you to the relevant section where you can explore how to apply the specific item of punctuation. Secondly, there are exercises set at three levels: foundation, intermediate and advanced. Access to the exercises is from the menu screen - just click on the exercises panel. The exercises are self- scoring so that you get to know how well you have done!
What do I need? To run the program you will need to have system 7 installed, 4 MB of RAM for the program, around 5.2 MB of hard disk space on which to copy the entire 'Punctuation Files' folder, QuickTime™ and the sound switched 'on' on your computer. The program will work without sound but it will lack the effects.
How do I start? All you need to do is to double-click on the program icon. The rest is interactive. To make progress you will need to click on words, pictures or information - some are identified but others are not. Remember to click on the full-stop symbol after the punctuation animation.
How much does it cost? This is a shareware program so there is a cost involved. It is free for evaluation purposes only and there is a time limit attached to the evaluation process. The period is ten (10) days. If you intend to use the program for any longer than the ten days then you should register with waGoNet. The registration fee is £10. Please use the accompanying registration form. You may use the program anywhere you like provided that it is installed on only one computer.
If you intend to use the program for educational or training purposes and wish to run the program on more than one computer then please use the registration form to order further copies. It may be possible to offer a discounted price or a preferential licensing agreement.
What do I get for registering? Primarily, peace of mind - knowing that you are a bona-fide user of the software. Secondly, you will be contributing to the continuation of interactive developments which you may wish to use in the future. Thirdly, and probably most importantly for you: (a) an access code to allow you to use the software beyond the ten day limit and to eliminate registration reminders; (b) any future updates; (c) photocopiable answer sheet - just in case you don't manage to score 100% on all the exercises.
Additional program: Included with the Punctuation software is a little program for those who would like to blame someone else or something else for not getting six correct numbers on the lottery. It is a game that you can play without having to leave your computer or to spend a fortune in stake money. It is in two parts. Part one will select up to seven sets of six random numbers which you can use as your lottery choices or merely to check how well or how badly you would have done if you had placed your money on those choices. The second part allows you to 'Pit your wits' against the computer. You are given the chance to predict six numbers and then to select up to seven chances to match your prediction against the computer's choices. If you match all six numbers with any one of the computer's selections you are a winner - satisfaction only, no financial reward! If you don't match fully then you will be told how many of your numbers matched with the numbers selected by the computer. 'Pit your wits' could put you off any form of lottery for life if you have as much success at making an outright match as we have had. Any way, good luck and enjoy the game.

May I distribute the software? The simple answer to that is yes, providing that you distribute it whole, that is, the complete folder named "PunctuationFiles" containing the actual program, this readme notice, the registration form and the additional lottery program. (In total about 5.2 MB.)
